Privacy & Cookie Policy
This policy explains what personal data QuietSaving collects, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have under the laws of Europe, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Asia.

Who we are
QuietSaving (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website quietsaving.com. We provide educational tools for savings, investing and financial independence planning. For privacy questions, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at contact@quietsaving.com.
The data we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account. We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Profile data you choose to enter: such as your name, country, age and investment preference.
- Financial planning data you enter: figures such as income, spending, debt and savings assumptions that power your calculators. You are never required to enter real figures, and you can delete them at any time.
- Watchlist and alert settings: the stocks, ETFs and bonds you add to your watchlist and which email alerts you switch on. Without an account the watchlist is kept only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address, the page you signed up from, and when you confirmed, received an issue or unsubscribed.
- Technical data: basic information your browser sends automatically (such as IP address and device/browser type) and, if you consent, analytics data. For analytics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you, and it only loads after you choose “Accept all”. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How we use your data
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To save and display your financial planning inputs and results.
- To send the emails you ask for: watchlist alerts (only once you switch them on) and the weekly newsletter (only after you confirm your address by clicking the link in our confirmation email). Every alert and newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also switch alerts off on your watchlist page. We never use these addresses for anything else and never pass them to anyone to market to you.
- To operate, maintain and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Our lawful bases (where GDPR applies) are: performance of a contract (running your account), consent (optional cookies/analytics, the newsletter and email alerts, which you can withdraw at any time), and our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and functional).
Where your data is stored and who processes it
Accounts and the data you enter are stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, which processes data on our behalf. The website itself is hosted on Hostinger, whose mail servers also send our emails (watchlist alerts, newsletter and confirmation emails). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We keep your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service; you can delete your account and data at any time. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter we keep only a record that the address unsubscribed, so we don't email it again; ask us and we will delete that too.
Cookies & local storage
We use a small amount of strictly necessary browser storage (cookies and/or local storage) to keep you logged in, to remember your cookie preferences and, if you use it without an account, to keep your watchlist in your browser. If you install QuietSaving as an app, your device also keeps copies of pages you've opened so they work offline; these stay on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data. These are essential and cannot be switched off. Any analytics or non-essential storage only runs if you agree to it through our cookie banner, where you can choose Reject all, Only necessary, or Accept all. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the “Cookie preferences” stored in your browser and reloading the site.
Your rights
Europe & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
United States (CCPA / CPRA and similar state laws)
If you are a California resident (or in a state with similar laws), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
United Arab Emirates (PDPL)
Under the UAE Federal Personal Data Protection Law, you have the right to access your data, to request correction or deletion, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.
Asia (PIPL, PDPA, APPI and others)
Depending on your country — including China (PIPL), Singapore and other ASEAN states (PDPA), Japan (APPI), and comparable regimes — you generally have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to be informed about cross-border transfers. We honour these rights globally regardless of where you live.
To exercise any right, email contact@quietsaving.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by your applicable law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database-level access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
